A new year, a new start. Words that so many people say every year, probably as a way of justifying the amount of food and booze consumed over the festive period. I've never really been a fan, but this year, I have areas in my life which could be much improved upon. I felt that the chances of sticking to a resolution were pretty slim if I didn't write it down somewhere, I guess it shows a commitment to it. Statistics show that the chances of me sticking to one are pretty slim, with 52% of participants in a resolution study were confident of success with their goals, with only 12% actually achieving their goals. Apparently, as a Male, I have 22% more of a chance in succeeding if I "engage in goal setting", giving myself actual targets, like drink 12 tinny's of John a day, as opposed to be a massive session. Anway, few points below on how I would like to approach 2010.
1) Get out of my overdraft - including the 200 quid deposit I put down for the flat next year, because this will give me an extra 200 quid on top of what I have when I get the deposit back. The plan is to live on about 20-30 quid a week, preferably 20 but I'll see if thats do-able... I'm sure it is though. This should equate to sensible shopping and maybe one night out drinking or two sober nights (see number two for more info)
2) Lay off the booze for atleast January, in a REALISTIC way; Last night out with the boyo's before we're back to uni, alongside a night out in Sheffield with everyone when I get back. Apart from this, a couple of drinks before and a couple when I'm out, if not none. This is not because of anything daft or even the amount I've consumed since I've been back; it's just the fact that nights out are my biggest weekly expendature, so to save cash money money, I need to start here!
3) Make an effort to get Grazes up and running! We're starting to operate as a band more now; we can have crack and get down and write songs. Get the set done and play anywhere and everywhere - it's probably the best time for me to do it! Old enough to play where ever, but not too old to be considered a waster.
4) Cardio, less weights (conditioning) three times minimum a week. Watch what I'm eating (no more whole bags of share-size dorito's to cure boredom.
5) Make music more & try and get hold of some recording equipment/synth/bass to become a solo hero.
6) Listen to and appreciate even more music than I do at the moment.
7) Get some ink and transform my wardrobe into an epic array of cheeky numbers.
8) Visit home and friends more.
9) Have another epic summer, even if it's all just in England.
10) Last year was the best year of my life to date, I'd like to out do it, have a blast for another 8765.81277 hours.
Like I mentioned before; this is as specific as it is so I have a reference point! I don't actually people care about the ins and outs of my plans!
