I decided to open a blog on Tumblr, which seems to be quite the latest hype. I like it's layout and stuff, but I realised that it's full of people who use google images to find arty photograpy to post, so they look arty. This was not to my liking. I no longer have a blog on Tumblr.
Today it snowed abit, my glasses got wet and smudgy afterwards. This was also not to my liking.
After complaining that my contact lenses have gone missing in the post for nearly two weeks, I decided to check the postbox of the ever quant & humble Flat 43. I removed the many takeaway leaflets, just because they're always there. During this process, a notification from the Royal Mail was spied by my little eyes: The parcel is too large, and so my contact lenses have been in the post office down the road for a week. Yet again, this was not to my liking.
I watched Awaydays tonight, which turned out to be a cliche British film representing a subculture from the past film. However, it's plot was far too simelar to that of Quadrophenia;
*Boy wants to be part of the cool crew.
*Boy tries to get in with the cool crew.
*Boy gets in with the cool crew.
*Boy gets too big for his boots, and looks like a cunt.
*Boy gets in a pickle, but then gets out of it eventually
*Audience waits for climax, but the film just fades to black.
. It was confused between a plot based on football violence, or to follow the young man finding his way plot, and did abit of both. This meant it didn't leave an impact as much as I'd have liked it to. As a lover of harsh, realistic, working-class inspired British films, I was sad to think that this may be a sign that this genre is becoming formulaic; this would make me very sad, very sad indeed.
Overall, today has been a bad day, for the above reasons. Tomorrow I want to go to Waterstone's in search of a book, and hopefully bump into a lovely female who somehow has a love for exactly the same things I do. This will not happen.
The end.
