Purpose...

Really struggling to feel a reason and a sense of belonging, don't seem to be going anywhere, and I don't feel like I have a close group of friends at the moment, strange.
Been meaning to get this blog up for a few days now, got abit of a concept to try and get going...
I've put together a short playlist of music that I've been listening to, some bands that are currently quite hyped, and a couple of tracks off albums that should be good in the coming year. It's really just boredom taking over, I don't want it to appear like my musical opinion is so correct that you should really listen to it, or anything like that.

I suppose the real inspiration behind the playlist, and this blog was the above band; CHEW LiPS. The South London trio, upon first glance, don't seem more than another cool band. At times, theres a hint of frontwoman vibe displayed so well by Siouxsie & the Banshees, revitalised by the Yeah Yeah Yeah's, that makes you think that this yet another London scene influenced cool band. The thing that personally sets them apart, for me, is the musical duo in the background playing a synth, a drum machine and a bass between them. 80's synth driven by funky bass, with the compliment of singer Tigs' vocals makes me feel that CHEW LiPS could be 2010's dancefloor sensation.

Anyway, The link to the playlist is here.

1. Wild Beasts - All The Kings Men (Two Dancers 2009)
2. Delphic - Doubt (Acolyte 2010)
3. Dan Le Sac VS Scrubious Pip - Get Better [Villa Remix] (The Logic Of Chance 2010)
4. The Drums - Let's Go Surfing (The Drums EP 2009)
5. Yeasayer - Madder Red (Odd Blood 2010)

  1. Vampire Weekend and Delphic albums are awesome. Best albums I've heard in a long time.

  2. yeah man I know, Vampire Weekend really answered critics with the new one, stuck to roots whilst not repeating the first album and at the same time don't sound fadish!
